RSL L3 Subsidiary Diploma for Music Practitioners
Study Topics
You will complete six units throughout the two year course. There are two compulsory units:
• Planning a career in music
• Rehearsal Skills and Live Music Performance (external)
Some suggested units are listed below, however there are many options available and the delivery of units will be selected depending on students interests and abilities:
• Live music performance
• Auditioning for music
• Getting work in music
• Musicianship
• Lead Performer
• Improving instrumental performance Assessment
Assessments are as focussed on performance as much as possible. There are also assignments in the form of written reports, practice diaries and presentations. This course is entirely coursework based so there is no final exam, instead there is a final live performance.
In order to prepare for your performance assessments, you will be provided with a 30 minute 1-1 instrumental lesson where you will develop your skills on an instrument of your choice.
